Hosted every October in Macao, a World Centre for Tourism and Leisure, the 9th edition of GTEF (GTEF 2020 or the Forum) will feature an array of thought-provoking discussions focusing on market trends, new policies, financing and investment opportunities, as well as regional development of the Greater Bay Area under the overarching topic of the culture and tourism economy.
Each year’s Forum features one or more Partner Countries as well as a Featured Chinese Province. Italy will be the Partner Country in 2020, as the first G7 country to endorse the Belt and Road Initiative. This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and China and is the designated year for Sino-Italian Culture and Tourism activities. Gansu Province will be the Featured Chinese Province, home to historically and culturally rich destinations, it is synonymous with the ancient Silk Road and is a strategic location for the Belt & Road Initiative.
